If you don’t hafta have art, be a Cupcake. The Atomic Cupcakes Junior Roller Derby was formed in Brighton, Michigan in 2010, and expanded to Flint, Michigan in 2012.
Our sister club for roller derby divas is the Atomic Cupcakes, and this junior derby team is always accepting new skaters from 7-17 years of age. The group now includes skaters from Livigston, Genessee, Wayne, Washtenaw and Oakland Counties. And in addition to junior derby skaters, the team always welcomes adult non-skating volunteers, adult referees and sponsors. The team trains all volunteers!

Fresh meat beginners can start in the Wednesday evening Learn to Sk8 Class at the Rollerama in Brighton or the Saturday morning Learn to Skate Class at the Rollhaven in Flint. Either beginner class is derby friendly, and will make sure that you get the basic skills needed to get started in your new sport. The Atomic Cupcakes team will provide lots of additional intermediate and advanced derby/speed-specific instruction, too.
